Hello! I’m Douglas, and I live just outside Dufftown with my wife, daughter and our two cheeky rescue dogs.

Halcyon Carpentry is a small independent business run from my workshop. I specialise in unique, bespoke furniture, ranging from traditional styles to more contemporary designs. I have a range of skills and when I'm not making furniture I also enjoy more structural builds, for example the tree platform! I take pride in offering an informal but professional service to those looking for something special. 

The environment is very important to me and for this reason I  use untreated Scottish timber which is sustainable and has the lowest carbon footprint possible. I also use natural fibre insulation, for example sheeps wool or hemp fibre.
